I use Microsoft Teams to conduct online lessons. There are many situations that commonly lead to technical difficulties that will take away from our time. It is incumbent on the student to understand how to make and receive calls, how to turn off all noise cancellation settings, and how to turn off any of the camera’s blurred background settings. I cannot reliably advise you on how to do these things, as the program’s menu layout will vary depending on the device, operating system, and platform you use use. I strongly advise you to familiarize yourself with these settings before our call.
For the most reliable results, I recommend that you download the Teams app and create a new account which you will use only for lessons. I would advise against conducting Teams meetings within your internet browser, or using an account that you’ve gained through your workplace. In my experience, both situations offer fewer controls over noise cancellation settings, which are crucial to our lessons.
Time spent addressing such issues during a scheduled consultation or lesson will not be “refunded” or made up.
